Challenge After the announcement and gameplay reveal trailers, fans worldwide were excited to learn more about Assassin’s Creed Mirage - the next episode of the beloved Ubisoft franchise. Our challenge was to highlight the creative approach and historical/technical commitment Ubisoft Bordeaux had for the upcoming release; bringing the audience back to the roots of the older AC games with a new, modern twist.
Our Approach Developer diaries can either give away too much information, or nothing at all. We worked closely with those on Mirage to craft and perfectly capture their vision. With our understanding of the brand and expertise in content creation, we shaped and collaborated with them (marketing, creatives, dev...) to create the sweet spot between information and entertainment. A mixture of gameplay footage, in-office shooting, and other behind the scenes footage gave us the perfect blend for a riveting, exciting, video series.
A clear flow between speakers interwoven with never-seen-before footage/documentation, was important to create a continuous feeling of excitement and discovery throughout.
We also handled the entire production and post-production process (location, lighting, music, motion…) to completely capture the game’s overall tone. Ensuring consistency with previous and upcoming assets was key in making this communication pulse a great success.
Results The first episode reached a staggering 2M views in one weekend, with over 10K comments. The three episodes combined generated over 4.5M views. Fans were extremely excited to learn more about the game and the overall vision - which was key for Ubisoft and us.
